Creative Team Roles

Lighting Designer

Verge Theater welcomes creative humans with experience in light design. Lighting Designers work closely with production directors to build the visual aspects that bring our productions to life. Experience in light design is a must for this role however, we will train you on our equipment. This role has a minimal budget for materials and a modest compensation for your time. Come design a plot for our intimate space.

Lighting Technician

This is the perfect position for someone who is interested in learning the technical side of theater. We will train you on our lightboard, you will get to join a fabulous crew of creatives, and be a part of an incredible production. Commitment for MainStage productions is typically 9 productions and 3 - 4 tech/dress rehearsals.


Sound Designer

Verge Theater is known for producing contemporary edgy material that challenges the minds and touches the hearts of our communities . Music and audio artistry bring the complete sense stimulation to any live production. We are inviting creative designers with a vast taste in music, a keen sense of timing, and a passion for theater. There is a minimal budget available for materials and a modest compensation for your time. Come and join the Verge Creative Team!

Sound Technician

This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone interested in learning the technical side of theater. Sound Technicians will run the sound cues, balance microphones and backing tracks, sometimes even a band! This position requires a detail oriented human with a keen sense of sound. Training will be provided for all equipment required. Typical commitment is 9 productions preceded by 3 -4 tech/dress rehearsals.


costume Designer

Verge Theatre is always looking for creative humans with a knack for fashion design and a knowledge of fashion history. We have built our reputation producing edgy contemporary material that challenges the minds and touches the hearts of our community. We now refer to this style of theater as “Vergy” We are constantly thinking outside the box and exploring the unconventional. Costume designers will work closely with the production director to bring our productions to life. Verge provides a minimal budget for materials and modest compensation for your time.

Seamstress

Are you talented with a sewing machine and passionate about community theater? This is a perfect opportunity to put your skills to use and give back to a fabulous theatrical community. Seamstresses will assist the production costume designer with sourcing, altering, and building all costume pieces needed for the production.


Prop Designer

Prop Designers for Verge Theater use common craft materials to create life like replicas of everyday items, that is if you aren’t able to source them around town! Verge is known for pushing limits and challenging minds. We lean into out of the box thinking and the unconventional. Our production design reflects our theatrical style. Designers work closely with the production Director and Set Designer to help bring their vision to life on the stage. If you are passionate about theater arts and working with a wild band of creatives we have a place for you. Verge Theater has a minimal budget for all materials and a modest compensation for your time.

mastor crafter

This is the perfect opportunity for a creative person who is looking to join a fabulous community but may not have the time, energy, or desire to commit to a production schedule. Crafters will assist Prop Designers in sourcing and/or building all hand held props and small set pieces for the production.


scenic designer

Designers for Verge Theater are responsible for creating the artificial world in which our productions take place. This creative individual should be well versed in common building materials and have a thrifty ability to use everyday craft items. Scenic Designers work closely with the production Director and Prop Designer to bring the physical world to life around our performers. Verge Theater offers a minimal budget for materials and modest compensation for your time.
